Seattle, start to summer, ballet, camping, half bday family olympics...

We made it back up to Seattle for Memorial Day weekend and rolled into town just in time for my Grandma Poletti's 90th birthday party! What an honor to celebrate this momentous milestone surrounded by a house full of family!

Piper, Calvin and Jett worked hard on this home made card for GG and had a blast playing with the cousins at the party.

Love this pic of my dad and the grandkids…check the resemblance between Calvin and my dad.

We love noticing and talking about how Calvin is a little Skipper.  The similarities go beyond just looks, though that is undeniable.  In fact my first words when Calvin was born, "He looks just like my dad!"

We had a full weekend of fun with my parents and sisters family.  Lots of cousin play and hanging with the fam.  Sharing meals and filling the house with crazy kid energy, for better or worse, but hopefully good for my parents as my dad is going through chemo treatments.

Sweet picture of my mom and her girls!

Uncle Topher made it to the park for some kid play too!
Family bike riding with us all powered by our own two legs!  I am super impressed with how quickly the boys "got" street smart riding.  We ride all the way downtown from our house no problem…yay for summer freedom!

Me and my friend Sara completed the Pole Pedal Paddle as a pair.  A first time for both of us to do this race.
Sara downhill snowboarded (after hiking in the snow UP hill to her board!)
I did the 8k cross country ski and the 22 mile bike ride from Mt. Bachelor back to town
Sara ran the 5 mile course
I paddle boarded the Deschutes river
Sara sprinted to the finish
What a FUN day!

From Farm day field trip to Farm culmination at Pipers school, I continue to be impressed with the great learning she is surrounded with!  It was an emotional end to the school year, Piper loved her teacher so much and was sad to say goodbye!  We are proud of you Piper!

Farmers Market…Milo, Piper and Ahlias sold berry pies.

Happy Fathers Day hike!  So thankful to be raising these three silly ones with YOU David Staley.  You are a great dad, such a joy to see you tickling, teaching, cooking for and loving our little ones.   We are a good team…Team Staley!

Grandma Alice is spending the month in Bend and made it to town in time for the big ballet recital!  She gave Piper these dance classes for Christmas, so it was perfect that she was in town to see the performance.

We had strict orders from the dance teacher to really doll up the make up so that their faces wouldn't get washed out from all the bright lights on stage.  Piper and Harvey LOVED this special occasion and soaked up the FUN for rehearsal and the big day.  All the girls looked beautiful in their matching yellow tutu dresses.  Piper seemed a little nervous to be on stage, but did great and had fun.

Practice dress rehearsal in the dance studio.

Thank you Katie for your make up application skills!

REAL dress rehearsal!

Our little stars headed back stage!

Biggest Piper FANs in the audience.  We all got fancied up too!

The PERFORMANCE!

After all the excitement of the ballet craziness that lasted the whole weekend…us and the Grahams headed out for some mid week boat camping at Sparks Lake!   The first camp out of the season and it went remarkably well.  There was quite some shenanigans getting ALL of us plus our dogs and camping gear out to the boat-in only sites.  But WOW was it worth it.  We paddle boarded, hiked around, swam and burned some marsh mallows…success!

What a beautiful place to spend with great friends and good food.  Yeah for camping.  We actually left Jett home with Grandma Alice for a two day sleep over at her apartment.  Jett was so stoked to have all the one on one attention, he planned out everything and they had a blast going to pools, parks and ice cream of course.

This fun game is called yo-yo boating…essentially, push out…pull in and scream with delight!

Seriously beautiful.

One of my favorite parts of Sparks Lake is all the cool rocks surrounding it.  Really fun for climbing on and hiking around.

Ahoy Captain David!

Summer is ON!

Cute buddy boys turning 41/2 on June 28th
To celebrate the boys half bday, we organized a mini family olympics with a few friends.  We all dressed up in our team uniforms and competed for GLORY in a series of crazy fun relay races.  What a fun day had by all!

The day was complete with Katie made cakes…YUM!  Katie makes some seriously scrumptious baked goods, the boys were stoked with the custom frosting!

Grandma Alice has been a big help over the last month hanging with the kids.  It seems like each kid has been in a perpetual stream of spend overs.  She has her apartment 2 blocks away and Piper, Calvin and Jett have been loving all the ONE on ONE attention.  Grandma Alice is so great with the kids and came prepared with lots of arts and crafts, books and energy to pour her love on all of us.  Thank you Alice for everything!
