Winter is finally here, even this picture of sledding New Years Eve wasn't quite the snowy winter we have come to expect, but there was a little snow and our local sledding hill was packed. Piper has loved sledding ever since she was small. Always wanted to go again and again. I am a little worried about the boys gusto with the cold and snow, so far they have seemed to just stand there and cry!
New Years Eve we went to celebrate at the Maxwells for a kid friendly East Coast count down at 9pm. Yummy dinner, good company and super fun to party like rock stars in PJ's. It was a late night for our little ones who are normally asleep by 7:30pm, they held it together just long enough till we made our exit and cried the whole way home! Happy New Year!!!
Lately we have had a lot of inside play time with all the rain and snow, I am going a little crazy, but the kids are still yucking it up just fine. Tutus, high heals and fairy wands are good for any day around the house.
More sledding and more cold buddies! Once again Piper loves bombing down the hill, she probably got in around 20 turns down the hill. I am excited to try her out on skis. We are borrowing a pair from friends and hope to go on Friday!

And more birthday celebrations
It felt like a week of non stop present opening! Between Christmas and Birthday celebrations, we were in a whirlwind of wrapping paper and boxes. It was fun to add to the festivities with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie and Cousin Garret making a trip down to help us celebrate.

We ate well and enjoyed lots of living room floor time playing with all the new toys. Super fun to see the kids with their cousin Garret. Lots of running around, laughing and non stop energy to keep the action packed fun flowing.
My mom was amazed with how much more the boys are talking compared to when she was last here in October.
Jett was a master present opener, though it is always hard to open the beautifully wrapped gifts from Uncle Paul. The wrap job is almost...almost the best part of his presents! =-)
Unfortunately it was a very rainy, yucky to be outside week, but we found a small window for bike riding and Pogo sticking. Garret just about mastered his new present and even kept up the practice in the garage.
The boys were enthralled with their birthday balloons, and in fact still are loving running around the house with the balloons chasing them. You can barely see it in this picture with Grandma and Grandpa, but to decorate for the boys birthday we basically TP'd our kitchen and dining room to create a festive feel for their special day. Who needs streamers!
Swimming was the activity of choice for their birthday morning. Being Christmas break, the pool was packed, but tons of fun. I was so proud of Jett to loose his fear and really have fun in the pool finally.
Hopefully he keeps a little fear though, he actually got so relaxed about being underwater that hanging out underwater was all he wanted to do.
It was fun to have my sister in town as well, not only to have Garret here to play but also nice to have time to hang out and chat after the kids were all in bed.

I really like both these pictures of the boys and my parents.
Happy Birthday Calvin and Jett! We love you!!!
