Oh summer, how I LOVE thee

Summer is flying by, I don't really even want to take the time to post, but here it goes with a few snap shots of the fun we are squeezing in.

It was the boys half birthday...we hung out on the outskirts of the amphitheater eating ben and jerrys while listening to the Steve Miller Band play live across the river .

Tuesdays have been the special date day for me and Piper.  The boys are in school one day a week for the summer and this has allowed my monkey and I to do fun bike rides and hikes together.  Topping it all off with dessert at the end!

What a handsome boy, my little Jett E Juice Box!  It has been so nice spending lots of one on one time with the kids.

This was an outing of strider biking at Shevlin Park.  Being able to go the pace of just one kid is amazing!  No one else is in charge, just me and the dude out enjoying the woods.  

Our garden hasn't gotten much attention this summer, but thank goodness we invested in it over the past few years.  We are reaping the rewards this year with tons of berries.  The strawberry patch was on its third summer and boomed.  Everyone enjoys hunting for strawberries, but I have to say that Jett is our most committed hunter.  He is super generous with the fruits of his labor and happy to share the goods he finds.  Calvin has figured this out and is happy to send Jett off to gather berries for him.  

Even the blueberries have done great and this is only their second season in the ground.  Unfortunately our raspberry patch got sprayed at the roots by the neighbors gardner so they are not so appetizing anymore...bummer.

We were in a pretty good routine for several weekends in a row hitting up the lakes and pronghorn pool one day each.  Ahhhh summer, like I said...how I love thee!

Picnics, paddleboarding and swimming can't think of a better way to spend time as a family.

It is peaceful outside and that is where we like to be.

We have had tons of help with the kids this summer with the arrival of Grandma Alice.  She came in time for all the summer fun and has stayed for the month as we have been ramping up with the opening of our new business.  Ill do another post on The Lot soon, but we couldn't have gotten this far in preparing with out Alice.  She has wrangled our monkeys one, two and three at a time.  Carving out special one on one spend-overs at the apartment she rented as well as crafts, games and walks to the park for the whole crew.

There was a stint for over a week that Dave and I were both working at The Lot on our beautifully, amazing, time intensive rock wall (pictures will be coming in the next post).  We were home for dinner, but Alice was in charge of bed time while Dave and I brought our head lamps and worked until midnight trying to get the wall done.  

There has been lots of treats, lots of books, lots of love and lots of time for the grandkids to enjoy.  We can't thank you enough Grandma Alice for your effort in keeping track of our crew.  It is no easy task, I am positive you will need to sleep for a week straight to recover!  Thank you for all your love and help, this trip has been a gift to our sanity during this crazy intense time in our life.

And of course the 4th of July three legged race.  It has become a tradition for Piper and I to participate  in the annual event in Drake park.  We are getting better every year.  Even the boys had a go at it this year.  So much fun!
